Stones, with nothing hidden
Every stone we quote comes with its grading data, its origin class (natural or lab-grown) and every treatment it has received. That is not a marketing position — it is how jewelry disclosure rules work, and how they should.
The 4Cs, in plain terms
The only C shaped entirely by hand. Cut decides how light returns to your eye — an excellent cut at lower colour often outshines a poor cut at D.
Graded D (colourless) to Z. For most settings, F–H reads as white to the eye and prices noticeably kinder than D.
VS1–SI1 is the honest sweet spot: inclusions invisible without a loupe, budget spent on what you can actually see.
Weight, not size. A well-cut 0.9 ct can face up like a 1.0 ct — and prices jump at round numbers, so 0.9 ct is often the clever buy.
Natural and lab-grown, side by side
Chemically identical, differently priced: lab-grown diamonds typically cost 40–60% less at equal grade. Mined stones carry rarity and a second-hand market; lab-grown stones carry value in size and quality per dollar. We quote both when it helps the decision.
Lab-grown stones are labelled “lab-grown” on the quote, the invoice and the grading report — never implied to be natural.
We purchase diamonds only from suppliers who state compliance with the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme. If you want deeper traceability, ask about documented-origin natural stones or lab-grown options.
Coloured stones & certificates
Most coloured stones on the market are treated — heat for sapphires, oil for emeralds, irradiation for some topaz. Treatment is normal; hiding it is not. We disclose every treatment we know of, and we say “unknown” when it is.
Composite stones (doublets, triplets) are always identified as such. Origin claims are made only with supporting evidence.
A grading report (GIA, IGI) describes a stone’s characteristics. It is not a valuation and does not state what a stone is worth. Need an insurance figure? We prepare a separate appraisal for the finished piece.
